Learn from experienced musicians — all skill levels welcome
Experienced musicians who are passionate about teaching
Kelly Jackson began learning bluegrass banjo at a young age and eventually moved on to learning guitar by the age of 15. He studied under Texas Swing Hall of Fame guitarist Vaughn "Tiger" Echols before being accepted into the jazz program at North Texas State University in the 1980s. Kelly received his music degree from MSU in the 1990s.
Kelly has played in numerous bands performing all across the southern US, and brings over 37 years of one-on-one teaching experience to his students — including time in private and public school settings.
Tripp Willis is a senior at Burkburnett High School, ranked second in the state for High School Jazz Guitar. His natural ability to play by ear has accelerated his musical development since he began learning guitar at age 13.
In summer 2025, Tripp earned a full scholarship to the prestigious Rock Workshop at Berklee College of Music under professional guitarist Marty Walsh, and has since been accepted to Berklee, where he will begin his studies in fall 2026. He teaches rock, jazz, country, and pop with a flexible approach that adapts to each student's learning style — and also offers instruction in music theory.
Jason Mallow is a musician, songwriter, mix engineer, and producer with music placements at ESPN and HBO. Recognized across multiple instruments — drums, guitar, and bass — his style is described as aggressively expressive, drawing from a broad range of genres without limiting himself to any one.
Jason has taught music privately for over 30 years, including time at the School of Rock franchise in the Chicagoland area. He brings real-world industry experience into every lesson, making him a strong fit for students who want to understand music at a deeper creative and technical level.
